Job Description

Location: NY or any other unanticipated worksites/locations throughout the US 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Exercise senior level discretionary authority to:

  1. Manage the process for developing new business, by developing and then maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
  2. Identify, pursue, and close on business development opportunities, including cross-selling, leading effective job pitches and presentations.
  3. Manage Cost Center team in the delivery of professional project management, cost management and project controls consultancy services for pharmaceutical clients. Ensure compliance with the business methodologies and client satisfaction throughout service delivery. Undertake client care surveys to monitor performance.
  4. Staff management- identify resource needs to meet business goals & deliver commissions, perform recruitment interviews, and undertake staff performance reviews in addition to making decisions relating to hiring and firing of subordinate staff.
  5. Financial management- oversee and track margin levels, maintain monthly fee and resource forecasts for each commission. Manage and direct team members in their use of Financial Management Systems for revenue, cost and profit forecasting. Manage debt
  6. Manage large teams of 60+ professionals delivering project management, cost management and project controls services.
  7. Manage, oversee, and direct the Cost Center Team’s compliance with Business Management Systems including operational policies, commission management, risk management reviews of contracts, NDA and insurances, anti-bribery and corruption, and health & safety procedures.
  8. Serve as senior-level technical knowledge resource regarding project management, cost management and project controls service offerings.
  9. Provide senior-level technical knowledge in the delivery of life science sector cost validation services, bring expertise in estimating, benchmarking, and data analytics.
  10. Serve as senior-level technical expert for economic forecast and market intelligence publications.
  11. Direct the work of the Cost Center Team to ensure that commissions are on time in line with contractual commitments, deliverables are being met, profit and fee targets are achieved, and business processes are being adopted.
  12. Process improvement- identify, develop, and improve internal project and cost management systems, processes, procedures, templates and products.

RELATED OCCUPATION:

4 years of experience as an Associate/Director performing the following job duties:

  1. Identifying opportunities to improve cost and project management procedures, templates and products
  2. Process improvement – Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes
  3. Quality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards and participation in ISO audits
  4. Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities
  5. Staff management – Inputting into the formal management of Associate, Senior & Project Consultants and recruitment interviews
  6. Financial management – Utilizing the tools provided keep track of the ongoing margin levels and monthly fee/resource forecasts for each commission

and 4 years as an Assistant/Senior/Cost Manager performing the following job duties:

  1. Leading the Cost Management aspect of the projects in sectors including Technology, Manufacturing, and Commercial Real Estate
  2. Preparing and updating cost estimates as design develops from concept to construction level drawings and specification. Presenting the final cost plan to the client and providing advice as required.
  3. Implementing value engineering practices and delivering the best cost solution to the client. 
  4. Reviewing and verifying contractor and subcontractor pricing, costs, and proposals through monthly payment application assessments on actual cost + fee and GMP contr
