Job Description:
The Investment Solutions Group (ISG) Platform Governance team provides fiduciary oversight for the Firm's investment advisory programs and platforms which include a comprehensive and dynamic risk control framework, aligned with policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and business strategy.  This team also works closely with cross-channel partners to ensure consistency and alignment across the Firms’ fiduciary programs (Edge and Private Bank) and is critical in anticipating and evaluating emerging risks and changes in the marketplace that may impact market strategy and business approach.  

In conjunction with other senior management, implements and monitors operational risk management policies, procedures, standards, and program with enterprise-wide impact such as Regulatory, and/or special projects for one or more departments or functions within a business group. Applies knowledge and expertise to influence business managers and peers to ensure enforcement of risk/regulatory programs, balancing business strategy with appropriate risk management controls.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides strong collaboration amongst multiples lines of business, including legal,  compliance, and risk, to successfully deliver and transform core oversight and risk management routines, processes, and initiatives
  • Acts in an ISG Platform Governance relationship manager role for the Firm’s investment advisory business, driving the strategic alignment of Single Process Inventory (SPI) and GPS Policies and Procedures.   In addition, provides advice and guidance throughout the issues development process, partnering with FLUs to coordinate the issues management process with GCOR and MWM Business Controls.
  • Drives efforts to simplify and improve the ISG user experience for core Enterprise efforts such as Issues Management, Single Process Inventory (SPI) and effective GPS Policies and Procedures management.
  • Cross-functional strategic approach; leads ISG Platform Governance transformation initiatives across the ISG team to drive consistency, clarity, and effectiveness across multiple lines of business, including focus on simplification and improvement of the IAP oversight and supervision framework, including the IAP Annual Client Review process.
  • Drives operational risk management efforts focused on de-risking the business to enable strategic growth of the Firm’s investment advisory business.  Includes oversight and review of business policy adherence, including the enforcement of an effective proactive risk management structure.
  • Business Process Architect for the Investment Advisory Platform business.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the securities or financial services industry, with a strong understanding of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the industry’s overall regulatory and compliance landscape. 
  • Business process improvement experience: ability to identify, analyze and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of workflows and operations. 
  • Knowledge and use of the Enterprise POP tool and strong understanding of SPI framework.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage and complete initiatives in a professional manner.
  • Exceptional data analytical and technical skills, highly proficient in Excel (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables, macros), as well as Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
