This position will be filled by a highly motivated crew chief with a passion for developmental flight test of Altius UAS and revolutionary products contributing valued mechanical expertise in all fields of aircraft maintenance. You will work heavily with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross-departments to help build a team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. The role will be responsible for aircraft mechanical assessment, maintenance coordination, flight execution, and reporting on all facets of aircraft readiness to the test program.
The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril works across the entire spectrum of products and business lines, as well as all flight operations and test range management. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new production acceptance testing, sub-component qualification testing and much more. In short, if it involves test, we support it. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Practice proper Tool Control, FOD, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.
- Execute pre-flight and post-flight checks and services, ensuring readiness for operations.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain aircraft and subsystems including landing gear, fuel system, flight control, and propulsion.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to manage parts inventory and ensure availability of necessary maintenance supplies.
- Complete aircraft and equipment documentation,
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain site support equipment.
- Prioritize maintenance tasks in accordance with departmental needs.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior service technicians and mechanics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance procedures and workflows.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to travel as required
- Willing to be multi-capable. Which shall include some electronics troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Secret clearance or higher.
- 5 years or more of airframe and power-plant experience.
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a fast paced, challenging work environment
- Must be able to obtain and hold a security clearance
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Willing to be multi-capable. Which shall include some electronics troubleshooting and repair
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A&P license
- Developmental test experience
- Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications)
- Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints and interpret/translate instructions to specific maintenance mechanics/technicians
- Experience with aircraft subsystems and components, preferably with Group 3 UAS or similar large aircraft
