About the opportunity
The Manager, Field Operations is a key role dedicated to overseeing the seamless operation and growth within a market. This position is essential to leading our teams in efforts of installation, maintenance, service,, and operational excellence efforts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality broadband network services. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Construction, Field Operations, and Supply Chain, the Manager will drive operational success and innovation, embodying our commitment to safety, community engagement, and setting industry standards with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
This Manager will lead markets in Tucson, AZ, Encinitas, CA, and Culver City, CA and will be based in Tucson, Arizona with monthly required travel to markets in Southern California.
Job Duties
- Directly manage the installation and operation teams within your designated markets, ensuring excellence in Middle and Last Mile maintenance, installation, and the delivery of services to both residential and commercial customers. You will be responsible for fostering a high-performance team & culture through effective recruitment, training, and development.
- Champion Ting's operating principles, promoting an environment dedicated to exceptional customer service, robust community engagement, and a team-oriented workplace. Your leadership will set the standard for excellence in service delivery across all operational facets.
- Participate actively in strategic planning and execution, focusing on setting and achieving specific operational goals tailored to market needs. Manage and Forecast CAPEX and OPEX budgets with precision, optimizing financial performance and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with local government agencies, vendors, contractors, and community leaders to ensure project success and compliance with regulations. Your role involves regular coordination with national teams to align on strategies and best practices.
- Uphold stringent quality assurance and control measures, ensuring all work meets Ting's high standards. Implement and monitor safety protocols, fostering a safe working environment for all employees and adhering to regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within your market by refining operational processes and adopting new technologies. Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality, remaining adaptable to changing industry trends and market demands.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support evolving business needs and operational requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven leadership in managing installation and operations teams.
- Strong foundation in Middle and Last Mile maintenance, customer installation, and service practices, especially in FTTH and Fixed Wireless and RF networks.
- Strong foundation in Fixed Wireless, Wireless Spectrum & Radios, PtP, PtmP, to include tower and mast knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams.
- Commitment to promoting and embodying core values such as exceptional customer service, community engagement, and teamwork.
- Strategic planning and goal-setting skills, with a knack for driving success through KPIs.
- Expertise in developing and managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets, with a strong financial and data analysis acumen.
- Experience coordinating with municipal, county, and state agencies, and building relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Vendor and contractor management skills, including negotiation and maintaining performance and quality standards.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and standards, with experience in training teams and ensuring compliance.
- Ability to enhance operational efficiency through process improvement and the adoption of innovative technologies and methodologies.
