Overview

The Terminal 5 Renovation & Reconstruction (T5 R&R) Low Voltage Special Systems (LVSS) Project Manager reports to the T5 R&R Terminal Project Manager and is responsible for driving and overseeing design and execution of all IT, special systems and technology systems for the T5 R&R project. The T5 R&R LVSS PM provides oversight of the design-builder’s design and execution of IT disciplines per LAWA standards.This position will act as the primary IT liaison and airport/owner representative responsible for T5 R&R project. Primarily, this role/individual shall act as a liaison between the project and Information Management & Technology (IMT) and manage the details required to execute this effort and rollout without impact to airport or airline operations. Successful candidate shall display experience with large stakeholder infaces ensuring inclusion, while understanding and driving the small details that go into signage design concepts, installation and activation. The Terminal 5 Program covers the full demolition and rebuild of the Terminal 5 headhouse and concourse, as well as various enabling scopes to vacate the existing building.

  • Project Manager and Technical/Construction Leader with experience in an operating/active environment.
  • Knowledge in IT design and construction practices and methodologies.
  • Management of project within budget and schedule constraints while maintaining all necessary scope elements.
  • Leader in stakeholder engagement to identity, communicate, resolution and accomplishment their needs, while preserving the principles and criteria of the project scope, schedule and budget constraints.
  • Knowledge in design and construction contracting practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience in the project design life cycle from Concept to Project Definition Book to Permit to Bulletins.
  • Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle from Pre-Construction to estimating/buyout to phasing to implementation to Closeout.
  • Ability to assemble KPI’s and decisions needed for Governance and presentation to others, including the executive staff.
  • Maintaining an excellent working relationship with the design and construction professionals geared towards open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other parties involved.
  • Developing and maintaining a high level of team morale through professionalism that reflects well on the project team, external stakeholders and LAWA/internal stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties

  • Primary liaison with ITM representative responsible for directing and managing the T5 IT implementation.
  • Responsible for scope development and scope management of the project to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Develop the RFP and oversee the procurement process for designers and contractors.
  • Providing direction and management for assigned project and ensuring on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Planning and defining program goals and devising methods to accomplish them, developing in-depth knowledge of owner objectives, contract terms, and airport policies.
  • Planning, directing, supervising and controlling the execution of all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the IT portion of the T5 R&R project.
  • Working with team members and airport management to develop budgets, schedules, and plan for the various elements of a project
  • Oversees owner’s staff that manages full project delivery including stakeholder interfaces.
  • Managing project scope to meet or exceed project goals and objectives.
  • Abilities to identify and study options to complex design, operational or constructability issues.
  • Ability to conduct field surveys and investigations to capture detailed and accurate field conditions. This information shall be used to enable strategic design and construction decisions.
  • Maintaining documentation on the approved scope of work for the project to include all related agreements, authorizations, reports, drawings and specifications. This documentation shall include narratives for all scopes of work as well as a coor
