JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State is searching for a full time Preventive Maintenance Worker (Electrical) - Grade 5 to join the team. Duties include:
- Following an established procedure, perform preventive maintenance in electrical vaults and manholes, and on transformers, motors, special automatic controls, switchgear, emergency lighting, motor generators, motor starters and breakers
- Lubricate and clean motors, motor starters, breakers; use simple vibration meter and record measurements
- Following an established procedure, perform preventive maintenance on power house equipment such as switchboards, transformers, generators, pumps; perform periodic inspection on various items of electrical equipment
- Test and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems on an assigned schedule; lubricate and adjust emergency motor generators and portable units
- Operate mobile work tower to maintain street and flood lighting systems, airport lights; relamp on schedule or as necessary various areas such as buildings, gymnasiums, pavilions and pools
- Maintain all electrical locations clean and with covers in place
- Plan and layout work to accomplish operations with a minimum delay to activity
- Report any unusual circumstances to supervisor
- Drive University vehicle as required
Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. 1 to 2 years of effective experience.
Work Schedule: 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Days Off: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
