Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - Software Integration & Test to join our team supporting our DARC program based in Eglin AFB, FL.
Primary responsibilities related to the system integration, test, and early-use of high-precision tracking radar systems and associated electronic disciplines.
This role will be on-site daily supporting the customer and early-use activities while interfacing and working closely with a team in an OCONUS location.
Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
Job Duties:
- Support early use operations on the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) radar system.
- Performs software testing on the DARC radar system.
- Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the integration and testing process.
- Support the development of system test solutions in accordance with project technical, schedule and cost constraints.
- Support early use training on DARC radar system.
- Assist team in development of innovative Test Automation solutions.
- Participate in, prepare and execute comprehensive system/element level test plans and procedures.
- Support system/element level test planning and test readiness reviews.
- Document test requirements and methodologies in the requirements management system.
- Review system engineering documentation to ensure test plans and methodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete.
- Reports to the system integration and test lead.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience; 4 additional years of hands-on missile defense, space tracking, and/or satellite operations experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Active Top Secret clearance required at time of application with SCI eligibility
- Experience in the development of software requirement verification procedures, Python, and MATLAB
- Experience conducting formal requirement verification test procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hands-on missile defense, space tracking, and/or satellite operations
- Experience working as part of an Integration and Test team across multiple engineering disciplines
- Experience as a member of a team integrating large, complex systems comprised of diverse HW and SW elements
- Ability to support Integration and Test/Checkout (IATC) of Hardware and Software configuration items
- Ability to document and record integration activities, including plans, procedures, results, and deficiencies
- International integration and/or test experience
- Software development integration and test methodologies
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
- Experience with large ground data processing systems integration
- Experience with radar processing algorithms or software integration
