Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and technically experienced Senior Director of Cloud Infrastructure Operations to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of our cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for driving cloud architecture, scaling operations, ensuring performance and resilience, and leading a high-performing team across multiple cloud platforms. The Senior Director of Cloud Infrastructure Operations will play a pivotal role in shaping our infrastructure strategy to support growth, innovation, and operational excellence. Candidates located within commuting distance to the Herndon, VA office are preferrred.

 

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cloud infrastructure strategies that align with the organization's business goals and objectives.
• Lead a team of cloud engineers and architects responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of the organization's cloud-based systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement cloud-based solutions that meet their specific needs.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with cloud service providers and other third-party vendors.
• Develop and manage the cloud infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective use of cloud resources.
• Stay current with developments in cloud technologies and best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvements.

 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure operations, with at least 10+ years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates local to the Herndon, VA office are strongly preferred.
