Hours: 80-hour fortnight with ADO
Salary: As per EBA- Range Grade 1- Grade 2.

About the opportunity

The Occupational Therapy department at WMH is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our acute team in a fulltime, limited tenure capacity until January 2026. New graduates are welcome to apply.

The Occupational Therapy department offers a supportive environment that promotes a culture of learning and development, with various opportunities for career progression. The friendly WMH OT teams consists of 23 dedicated clinicians who currently provide client centred, occupational therapy services within the emergency department, short stay unit, acute, subacute, Hospital in the Home/Gem@Home, community (Health Independence Program and Commonwealth Home support Program) and outpatient hand therapy services.

The acute inpatient OT service is supported by a grade 1-3 structure, with opportunities to gain experience across surgical/medical and ED/SSU areas.

  • The Grade 1/2 Occupational Therapist provides quality, evidence based, person-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary care team to the allocated caseload.

  • This position is supported by AHA delegated tasks. 

  • Supervision is provided within the acute senior team.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current, full Occupational Therapy registration with AHPRA

  • Relevant experience within an acute setting

  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.

  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.

  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.


You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
