Position Summary:

The business data analyst will support Capital’s Vendor Rebate and Customer Pricing team.

This position will report to the Director of Pricing and will provide data analysis of stock and SPA pricing, recommend areas of consolidation, and lead negotiations with vendors.  In addition, candidate will provide back-up to our commodity pricing lead.

This position will work very closely with the sales, purchasing, and pricing teams as well as our vendors and their local agents across our footprint.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current stock and SPA pricing.
  • Make recommendations for consolidation and simplification.
  • Lead consolidation and simplification negotiations with vendor partners.
  • Work with sales teams to make sure customer base is taking advantage of all appropriate SPA pricing.
  • Work with procurement team to continually negotiate market level “into stock” pricing.
  • Partner with Capital’s commodity costing manager and provide backup to the field when needed.
  • Support pricing initiative with analytics
  • Dashboard creation and project success tracking

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with quantitative major such as finance, math, applied math, engineering or data science
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Organize and present data effectively based on the audience
  • Experience with Cognos, Tableau, Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus
  • Consistent track record in using quantitative analysis to drive market and/or business decisions
  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills
  • Must be comfortable meeting with, presenting to, and supporting all levels of staff
  • Electrical product knowledge and sales experience is a plus
