Manager, PES Site Mechanical Team

The Manager, NA PES, Field Service, Site Mechanical Team is accountable for the overall performance of the NA PES Field Service, Site Mechanical Team. This role is responsible for the execution, strategic development, and implementation of plans to support the growth of Valmet’s PES Site Mechanical team.

This position will be responsible for coordinating field service team schedules, estimating, issuing proposals, and execution of PES Field Service projects.  Additional responsibilities will be to assist in establishing and executing a complete PES Field Service offering for our customers.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement strategies that support the overall growth of the field service site mechanical team; focus for the position is on PES Field Service areas, to include capital projects. 

• Develop sales targets and be responsible for orders, sales, and as-executed margins for the business.  Sales plans will be developed, communicated, and implemented annually. 

• Work together with other PES Field Service Managers, Product & Sales Managers to drive sales and implement strategy.  

• Provide training and support to field service team and encourage cross-utilization of all resources within the field service teams.  

• Become familiar with and support use of Service Max and @field scheduling programs. 

• Set individual field service personnel targets and must wins to promote growth and development of team members. 

• Participate in a continuous improvement process in an ongoing effort to improve business processes, services, and safety as related to Valmet’s field service business objectives 

• Provides expert-level technical support related to all PES field service projects and product lines. 

• Providing technical support as needed by other Valmet departments (Engineering, Capital, Spare Parts, etc.) 

• Work in a team environment and support other PES Field Service Managers to achieve team objectives  

• Participate in quality, warranty, and customer feedback investigations as required 

• Ensure service reports are prepared, reviewed, and submitted in a timely manner. Service reports should be detailed and made available to other departments for full follow-up (engineering, spare parts, etc.) 

• Work closely with project and product managers to maintain project execution and control project costs. 

• Direct, manage, write, and review maintenance tasks for assigned area of responsibility. 

• Provide Sales support for PSMs and MSMs.  Maintain and generate marketing material; provide specific customer sales plans for field service growth and customer solutions. 

• Development of Sales “Playbooks” which outline specific customer targets; Update Compass for all sales activities including site visits, opportunities, go/get, as-sold margin, comments, status, and pricing.
