A DAY IN THE LIFE:

This role will be a key member of the Commercial Finance team driving the development and maintenance of an effective financial planning, reporting, and analysis process. Responsible for generating meaningful reporting and analytics in support of commercial execution and effectively communicating those findings across all levels of the organization to drive strong financial decision making. Provides insight and analysis across the P&L from revenue through profit while understanding the revenue and expense drivers across the business.  The successful candidate will utilize strong business acumen, deep financial expertise, and solid communication to become an effective partner within the organization.

  • Partnering with commercial functions to understand and impact revenue, profitability and commercial execution strategies.  This includes understanding the drivers of territory performance, competitive positioning and go-to market strategies.
  • Serve as a strategic finance partner for the assigned business functions. Influence business leaders by providing KPI metrics to ensure financial accountability.
  • Engage with business leaders to develop annual budget, pressure test budget request using productivity metrics, ROI on investment as needed.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop deliverables in support of Tandem’s annual strategic planning process.
  • Develop financial analysis to drive well thought out financial decisions.
  • Perform variance analysis on headcount, spending and assumptions against prior forecast, and drive monthly business review and quarterly forecast process with business leaders.
  • Partner with business leaders and Human Resources to manage the headcount approval process.
  • Partner with budget owners in identifying cost savings initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, reporting deliverables and processes.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and planning applications.
  • Ability to quickly develop working experience with ERP systems, previous experience with Workday Adaptive Planning a plus.
  • Strong knowledge, understanding and experience with business intelligence dashboarding tools and SQL, preferred. Power BI with database structures will be utilized in this role.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • 4-6 years’ previous experience in a financial planning and analysis role, business partnering or other finance area.
