This role as a Line Leader at MANN+HUMMEL requires proactive management of daily operations, ensuring adherence to quality and productivity standards through effective leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Tasks
5S Implementation and TPM
- Attend 5S audits and facilitate workshops in the assigned area.
- Implement action plans derived from workshops to enhance workplace organization.
- Ensure sustainable implementation of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concept.
- Conduct regular TPM audits and weekly line audits to maintain equipment reliability.
Daily Operations Oversight
- Train associates on standardized work procedures and ensure compliance.
- Verify availability of Operational Information System (OIS), documentation, and tools.
- Conduct thorough cell start-up checks and inspect the first piece for quality before production.
- Monitor hourly productivity rates and enforce adherence to standardized work practices.
- Document defects and scrap, ensuring proper disposal and documentation.
- Halt production and guide associates in resolving abnormalities as per standardized protocols.
- Analyze defects for root causes and perform rework promptly to maintain production flow.
- Support line associates in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
End-of-Shift Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective shift change communication.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of the production cell for the next run.
- Manage disposal of Red Bins and update necessary production documentation.
- Report production results to Team Leaders and recommend continuous improvement activities.
Your Profile
Education and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing.
Skills
- Proficiency in Production Basics and Lean Manufacturing Practices.
- Understanding of 5S principles and their application in improving workplace efficiency.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Problem-solving capabilities to address operational challenges promptly.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
- Ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
- Experience in leading teams or supervising in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts and audits preferred.
