Engineering Manager, Product Security

Zoox is looking for a Manager of Platform Security to join our Product Security team. Product Security is responsible for the security of the Robotaxi and its services platform. Our mission is to develop secure architecture and defense of our large-scale, high-assurance platforms. This role is critical in our ability to secure modern, distributed infrastructure, ensure resilience against evolving threats, and embed security into every layer of our platform. You will be responsible for leading the platform security team. Your expertise will help us secure workloads in a highly scalable and distributed cloud environment while ensuring highest security and privacy assurance of personal information.

In this role, you will:

• Create a vision and roadmap for best in class security features and frameworks
• Lead large and complex initiatives and make them successful  
• Grow your engineering team, push them with new challenges and support them as needed
• Collaborate with your cross-functional partners in Product Software, SRE, Product Management, Quality Assurance and Technical Program Management to develop and execute an impactful roadmap
• Be curious, ask questions, understand the context of past decisions, while pushing your team, platform and technology forward

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in security engineering, cloud security, cryptography, network security, and secure system design, with a proactive approach to securing complex platforms.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage a high-performing software engineering team, including effective hiring and career development
• Hands-on experience developing applications in Kotlin, Java, Python, C++or similar languages
• Expertise in software design and architecture of complex systems, managing resource constraints and ensuring system reliability
• Track record of collaborating with product management to drive ideas from inception to delivery
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a history of providing technical leadership and support to other teams

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with AWS or other public clouds, DevOps/SRE practices, infrastructure-as-code tooling, and container-based service operation.
• Contributions to the cybersecurity community of practice, such as developing tools, contributing original research, participating in conferences and events, etc

CompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $267,000 to $295,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
