Hendrick Motorsports, a championship-winning NASCAR operation, is currently seeking a highly motivated candidate for a summer Marketing Internship opportunity beginning in January 2026. The ideal candidate will have interest in pursuing a career in sports & entertainment sales, marketing, events and data/analytics, and must be willing and able to work in-person from our Charlotte, North Carolina offices. The Marketing Intern will report to the Marketing Account Services Director and will be responsible for a variety of regularly scheduled deliverables and time-sensitive projects essential to the success of the organization and its corporate partners.
The Hendrick Motorsports internship program provides a hands-on opportunity for college students to build work experience and learn the behind-the-scenes operations of a professional sports team. Interns are exposed to various aspects of marketing and sales, including sponsorship and event activation, campaign development; partnership pitching, negotiation and contracting; and program measurement/analytics. Applicant placement is based on interest, experience, academic achievement, and the organization’s business needs. To qualify for an internship position, current college/university students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. In addition, students must be available to work 40 hours per week including limited weekend obligations.
Responsibilities:
• Support Account Services and Partnership Development groups by contributing to case studies and white papers used for partnership renewal efforts and new partner pitches
• Contribute to the development and execution of Hendrick Motorsports events, including at-track partner hospitality suite activations, external partner events, and internal teammate focused events held on the Hendrick Motorsports campus
• Lead partner and prospect facility tours of the Hendrick Motorsports campus
• Assist Partnership Development group in researching potential partner brands and categories
• Undertake brand and activation research projects
• Organize and report upon industry data, trends, and analysis
• Assist Account Services group in the execution of partner-related tasks and requests, including support of partner production days, events and appearances
• Support the fulfilment of certain licensing-related requests, including the facilitation of autographed items
• Prepare partnership asset recaps to help ensure the proper fulfillment of contractual obligations
• Produce, maintain and distribute regularly scheduled internal communication documents such as production schedules and marketing calendars
• Interact with Hendrick Motorsports fans and lead on-site customer
communications
• Assist Technical Partnerships lead with industry specific research projects and
the development of both internal and external presentation materials
