Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for assisting customers by phone and email with immigration issues and verifying legal presence in the United States and investigating possible fraudulent activities regarding immigration documents used to obtain a driver's license or identification card. This position will also be responsible for updating sanctions to driver records and making final determinations for issuances based on legal presence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and research trends and patterns.
- Skill in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
- Ability to conduct fact-finding research (investigate) and collect data.
- Knowledge of and the ability to understand, apply and interpret applicable laws, rules, regulations, program policies and procedures related to driver licenses and registrations.
- Able to effectively and efficiently deal with customers from varied backgrounds in stressful public contact situations in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Skill in preparing correspondence, memos and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple priorities and assignments.
