CTG is seeking to fill a Network/Systems Administrator opening for our client in Paul Smiths, NY.

 

Location: Paul Smiths, NY

Duration: 6 months

 

Overview:

This Network and Systems Administrator position will assist in the management, maintenance, and implementation of network-related and systems-related technology. This position works closely with the Senior Systems Administrator.

 

Duties:

• Assist in supporting the systems and network infrastructure such as servers, switches, firewall, wireless controllers, and access points.
• Where able, contribute to system/network design and implementation.
• Assist the IT team with the implementation of new projects.
• Assist with escalated Help Desk Tickets.
• This position reports to the Senior Systems Administrator

 

Skills & Experience:

• 2-5+ years of experience in an IT-related field.
• 2-5+ years as a Windows/Linux System Administrator and/or demonstrated ability.
• 2-5+ years as a Network Administrator and/or demonstrated ability.
• Backup monitoring and maintenance experience.
• Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a team.
• Ability to remain calm during difficult situations, cope with pressure, and work with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to assess, prioritize, and manage tasks with appropriate attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to correspond clearly and in a timely manner.

• SMTP

 

Sample Tasks:

• General
  • Network and server/system related incidents as they arise, backfill as needed and able
  • Assisting with wiring closet reconfigs/config
  • LAPS reconfiguration and review
  • Ubikey deployment
• Azure/AD
  • Help with Azure InTune
  • Active Directory/Azure Integration Review/Clean Up
  • Integrations – example: AD to PowerCampus
• Network Systems
  • Dell switch configuration review and adjustment
  • HP Core Switch monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Assist with firewall management (SonicWall at first, then Fortinet)
  • Ubiquity Switches and Access Points
    • Review configs
    • Upgrade controllers
    • Troubleshooting
  • Assist with analysis of data from LibreNMS to make decisions about load balancing, bandwidth allocation/upgrade, and configuration changes
