Job Description
This position is responsible for maintaining machine, robot, or measuring program, equipment prints and documentation. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Resolves major programming problems. Recognizes and secures external expertise when required.
- Debug and implement process improvements of assembly or manufacturing line controls.
- Design and optimize automated equipment concepts.
- Troubleshoot robotic to plc interface programming, modify if needed.
- Assists maintenance personnel with machine problems.
- Conducts Controls Technician personnel training.
- Maintains technical skills.
- Completes special assignments.
- Working knowledge, understand, and be capable of programming in SIEMENS PLC language, i.e. (LAD) ladder diagram, (STL) statement list
- Provide on call support afterhours when needed
- Develop and maintain systems for data acquisition and analysis
- Maintain, troubleshoot and backup electronic and controls devices such as Drives, Vision systems, DMC Readers and others
Qualifications
Four Year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related. Advanced knowledge of PLC programming (typically associated with 3 years experience). Three years related experience and or training.
