About the Opportunity:
The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for corporate accounting responsibilities with GL monthly close, GL reconciliation, and assisting with quarterly and annual financial reporting. This hybrid role works out of our Global HQ in Rosemont, IL and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Financial Accounting.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Global Support Center in Rosemont, IL. M/F remote and T-Th are in-office collaboration days #LI-Hybrid
Essential Functions
Perform financial analysis and report metrics
Prepare monthly journal entries to P&L and Balance Sheet accounts to ensure proper and accurate recording of business activity
Maintain accrual and amortization schedules (Accrued Expenses, Prepaids, Rebates, etc.) on a monthly basis
Assist and serve as back up of customer/vendor additions and Company Corporate credit card program
Assist in completing monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for Financial Reporting and Tax Department
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Provide recommendations for improving processes and financial efficiency
Prepare monthly reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts
Improve/create account reconciliation schedules to support and analyze ledger balances
Streamline journal entry preparation/process to permit a quicker monthly close
Interact with auditors in the examination of financial and tax related data, reports, and forms
Work on cross-functional teams to improve processes and results
Assist in the creation and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
Prepare footnotes and support for annual financial statements
Other duties as assigned or required for performance of this position
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred
Public accounting experience a plus
5 years accounting experience
Technically savvy; proficiency using Microsoft Suite (e.g. Excel and Word) is necessary
Demonstrated track record of process improvement
A desire to learn, a strong intellectual curiosity, and an infectious positive attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service, time management, interpersonal and analytical skills with a proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast- paced environment
Strong decision making, organizational and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles
Oracle knowledge a plus
