Job Description
Fannie Mae seeks Software Engineering – Lead Associate– Reston, VA
- Work with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in new/revised applications or large/complex development projects.
- Develop and code, analyze data and build models from it as it pertains to the customer need.
- Create or Update documentation in support of development efforts. Documents may include detailed specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams or design documents.
- Perform Database development, Big data analytics with Spark and Hadoop
- Participate in code reviews with peers and managers to ensure that each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story and all standard resource libraries and architecture patterns as appropriate.
- Respond to trouble/support calls for applications in production in order to make quick repair to keep application in production.
- Serve as a technical lead for an Agile team and actively participate in all Agile ceremonies. Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.
- Use high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process.
- Set up and configure a continuous integration environment.
- Perform unit testing as well as coding in 1-2 languages such as Java
- Develop enterprise level software frameworks to speed up delivery, tracking and triaging.
- Hybrid work possible in this position.
Qualifications
Req’d: Master’s in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering plus 3 years experience in database development, big data analytics, AWS Services. Experience must include application of software qualities such as security resilience, maintainability, tracing, caching”.

Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
