Job Description

Job Summary

Collaborate with System and Member Organization department managers and leadership to support, educate, and guide the effective use of internal and external benchmarking and related tools. Responsible for possessing and applying in-depth knowledge of benchmarking tools and analytics, including workforce productivity and supply or purchased service utilization. Partner with operational leaders to drive labor, supply, and purchased service productivity, as well as cost improvement efforts. Support key strategic organizational priorities, such as labor management, financial and operational performance, and System-wide performance improvement initiatives. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead training and education initiatives for department managers, directors, and leadership on all aspects of the Vizient Operational Database.

• Oversee training and education for department managers, directors, and leadership on all components of UMMS’s internal and external productivity management tools.

• Serve as the subject matter expert for benchmarking mappings, data normalization, and definitions, providing training and guidance to end users.

• Identify and recommend appropriate tools for end users to optimize data utilization.

• Develop customized reports to support the specific needs of department managers, directors, and senior leadership.

• Serve as a liaison with other Vizient members to foster collaboration and share best practices.

• Leverage expertise in benchmarking systems and tools to connect UMMS managers and directors with Vizient members, enabling peer collaboration.

• Ensure the standardization and consistent application of benchmarking and productivity data across all UMMS Member Organizations.

• Ensure that productivity and benchmarking data is actionable and accessible to all UMMS Member Organizations.

• Facilitate the integration of operational and business standards into workflows and implementation strategies to align with organizational objectives.

• Contribute to system-wide performance, productivity, and staffing model initiatives.

• Provide benchmarking and productivity data support to assist with the identification and implementation of operational improvements.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key organizational leaders to enhance collaboration and maximize data utilization.

• Serve on cross-functional teams to provide expertise and recommendations on the effective use of benchmarking and productivity data.

• Develop reporting frameworks and data architecture to ensure results align with end-user needs, offering training and interpretation support, as necessary.

• Create strategies and new reporting opportunities using internal and external data sources to enhance downstream analyses performed by end users.

• Stay informed on Vizient Operational Database best practices and updates and actively participate in training sessions, seminars, and user groups.

• Establish and manage deadlines and workflows to ensure timely data development and reporting availability.

• Continuously assess opportunities for improvement through emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Develop comprehensive training materials, technical guides, workshops, and educational resources for system-wide end-user training.
