$33.80 - $51.62 Hourly

The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION

The financial responsibilities of the Utilities Department are managed by the Financial Services Section of the Administrative Division.  This position will support a debt portfolio of over $2 billion including revenue bonds and loans, support grant writing, reporting, and applications. The Senior Financial Specialist is an administrative position primarily responsible for managing and monitoring budgets, financial operations and/or projects. The duties performed require the utilization of previously acquired technical knowledge and skills. 

JOB SUMMARY

This position is located in the Financial Services Section of the Administration Division of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. The Senior Financial Specialist is a financial management administrative position responsible for managing a work section and monitoring budgets, financial operations and/or projects. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees and schedules the agenda and contract management of various trusts managed by the City Treasurer’s Office.
  • Reviews and monitors financial budgetary expenditures and revenue receipts.
  • Supervises by assigning and evaluating work accomplishments, resolving problems, and training new employees.
  • Balances and monitors various trust fund accounts and encumbering funds.
  • Calculates financial and trust statistical data. 
  • Plans and assists in the department's overall budget preparation. 
  • Processes and verifies reports and forms assigned and received from other internal City departments or external vendors/consultants.
  • Generates spreadsheets and financial reports, conducting research and analysis of trends.
