The Sr. Manager, Renewable Energy Solutions will manage and support the deployment of the Company’s utility scale Renewable Energy solutions in North America, which include Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPA), Transferable Tax Credits (TTC) and Long-term Structured REC advisory solutions. 

Primary Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager, Renewable Energy Solutions, will be the face of World Kinects North America Renewable Energy Solutions group to our developer network.  They will work with our established network of developers, deepen and enhance the experience, and build relationships with new developers. They will then lead in interacting with developers, sourcing projects for VPPAs, TTCs and Long-term Structured RECs, and gathering and maintaining data from them. This role will include the maintenance and growth of a pipeline of projects with those developers and will require coordination and collaboration with multiple other internal teams of stakeholders.

This position manages our corporate relationship with renewable energy developers and requires being the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on VPPA/TTC/REC Pipeline for the fulfillment team, ensuring timely delivery, stakeholder alignment and effective coordination and coherence of services, leading to and enabling the successful execution of customer contracts.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead our engagement with developers and other strategic partners
    • Serve as an internal SME on our project and partner pipeline, fill and maintain pipeline of renewable energy projects
    • Understand what makes a good project or bad project, understand the challenges developers face and the risk mitigation options available to developers and customers
    • Engage with developers early, and maintain the face of the organization through the customers renewable energy solutions journey
    • Create real, meaningful relationships with developers, to enable useful conversations that bring in actionable market intelligence
    • Recognize and communicate that intelligence through the organization
    • Work on creating new opportunities and enterprise value for World Kinect from those developer relationships
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of enabling agreements between World Kinect and developers of utility scale renewable energy projects
    • Will be responsible for maintaining and executing NDA’s and Brokerage Agreements with Developers.
    • Will be responsible for working with our key internal stakeholders, including finance and legal team to enable the customer onboarding process, invoicing and tracking of payments from Developers            
  • Must manage work plans & timelines for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Support business development and commercial activities where required, providing expertise and input to customer proposals
  • Show executive presence and confidence in managing programs, engaging with the most senior levels of corporate, governmental and institutional customers.
  • Collaborate with team leadership and management
  • Maintain knowledge of Renewable Energy market trends, opportunities and new technologies and applying a customer lens and viewpoint.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

Essential:

  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • 4+ years of energy or renewable energy experience [solar PV, onshore or offshore wind and other technologies]. 
  • 3+ years experience with project development, project finance, corporate PPA’s and/or Corporate Energy procurement.
  • Excellent understanding of renewable energy incentives and regulatory structures. 
  • Broad technical understanding of energy systems and renewable energy technologies, and ability to assess new renewable energy technologies and complementary technologies to identify new opportunities
  • Outstanding project management skills, including experience with appropriate software tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver meaningful business results with minimal supervision
  • General business and financial acumen and substantive evidence of customer-service o
