Job Description

The ideal Salesperson Stylist is passionate about service and styling and has the ability to cultivate and grow meaningful and lasting customer relationships, both digitally and in-store. If you love working one on one with customers and want to further your styling career at Nordstrom, this is a great role for you. This role is the first steppingstone to become eligible for our Enhanced Premium Stylist program.

A day in the life… 

• Set and achieve sales goals by utilizing our tools to serve our customers on their terms.
• Enhance your skills in building an appointment-based business. When not with a personal customer, be available for appointments booked through BLVD to create new customer connections.
• Build lasting relationships with customers by contacting them to follow up on purchases, suggest new merchandise and invite them to upcoming events.
• Be the fashion authority - provide honest and confident feedback to customers about style and fit. 
• Develop your selling skills by serving customers throughout the entire store, at all price points.
• Grow relationships by introducing customers into the Nordy Club and invite them to take advantage of the benefits of the program throughout the year.
• You are a part of a selling department team! When not in appointments, you will be floor coverage, have department duties and responsibilities. (Dusting, filling in the floor, maintaining your section, etc.)
• The hours and schedule for this position will vary by week depending on business needs. 
• This role may require you to be flexible to occasionally performing work/duties in a department other than the one you were hired into.

• Strong understanding of how to use our tools to build relationships
• The capacity to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 
• The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs 
• Physical Requirements:
  • Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head.  
  • Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
