The Avionics Operations' Factory Enablement & Support organization seeks a Software Engineer Co-Op to join a team working on manufacturing support applications and Advanced Manufacturing Initiatives. The right applicant will be involved in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process to include requirements decomposition, design, development, user training, implementation and support. The focus of this position will be on the development of back-end, server-side applications for data extraction, staging and provision for us in front-end tools. The position calls for a hands-on development role where the applications will be developed for the Web, Windows and mobile platforms with a variety of backend sources and databases including SAP, MS SQL Server, Oracle and various manufacturing systems. The position will work extensively with internal customers including leadership levels in fulfillment of its project activities.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in the design, development and maintenance of software applications using C#, MVC, Vue.js among others.
  • Assist in the writing and optimization of SQL queries to manage and retrieve data efficiently.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software development Lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Debug and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
  • Document code and software processes for future reference and maintainability.

  • Improve knowledge and experience in applying software design principles and patterns.
  • Improve knowledge and experience in version control systems (e.g., SVN) and collaborative tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Enhance your problem-solving skills by tackling real-world challenges and debugging complex issues.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
