Patient Services Associate (PSA)

Description

New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 50 years. We're looking for an experienced Patient Services Associate with conscientious work ethics to join our busy specialty practice.

Heavy patient interaction in-person and over the phone. Primary duties include facilitating a positive patient office experience and supporting clinical teams, ensuring that patient information is up to date, updating the database to be current, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments within established guidelines, documenting medical questions for disposition by MD or PA, balancing daily receipts, miscellaneous clerical duties and other related tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

M-F 7:30a-4:30p, 40 hours per week (1 hour non-paid lunch)

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

Work setting:

• In-person. The regular work location will be varied between our offices (Springfield, Longmeadow, Northampton and Westfield) based on staffing and provider needs.

This position reports to the Patient Services Supervisor.

Requirements

Professionalism, courtesy, patience, accuracy, keen attention to detail, good judgment & follow-through, verbal & written communication skills, ability to multi-task and perform mathematical calculations and make change, proficiency with electronic health record and Microsoft Office software programs.

Overtime and scheduling flexibility may be required to accommodate operational needs.

High school diploma or GED required. Prior customer service experience preferred.
