About the role
<p><span><b>ESG CONTROLLER – YOUR IMPACT</b></span></p>
<p><span>With the focus of regulators and governments on sustainable finance and the role of financial institutions in the flow of capital to sustainable activity and investment, there is rapid growth in ESG reporting and disclosure requirements, in which you will play a key role by providing robust sustainability reporting in this evolving landscape to instil stakeholder trust and confidence in sustainability. As an ESG Controller, you will take complete ownership of the sustainability reporting process and support both regional and global ESG reporting and implementations. You will develop an in-depth understanding of Group and its subsidiaries, including their business strategies, products and associated technical sustainability reporting and disclosure requirements.</span></p>
<p><span>We’re looking for a bright, driven professional to join our ESG Controllers team in Frankfurt, who is keen to use and develop their skills to provide high quality reporting and analysis of our entities’ assets and sustainability in a challenging and dynamic environment. </span></p>
<p><span><b>ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></span></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop processes and implementation roadmap for ESG reporting</span></li>
<li><span>Produce ad-hoc, periodic and annual ESG metrics and regulatory disclosures impacting regional subsidiaries and Goldman Sachs Group (GSG), and manage reporting processes</span></li>
<li><span>Engage with external consultants and reporting solutions and controlling the reporting processes</span></li>
<li><span>Actively monitor application and adherence with local ESG regulatory reporting obligations</span></li>
<li><span>Keeping abreast of relevant regulatory requirements/standards and industry developments (EU Taxonomy, CSRD, UK TCFD, SDR, UK Green Taxonomy, best practices from the industry and vendor solutions) and become familiar with ESG/sustainability reporting through reporting and implementation</span></li>
<li><span>Analyse the results of ESG metrics and report their findings to working groups, oversight forums, and senior management</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span><b>SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR:</b></span></p>
<ul>
<li><span>3-5 years of experience, preferably in the financial services industry, with an interest in Sustainable Finance and ESG reporting;</span></li>
<li><span>Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate the evolving sustainability regulatory reporting environment </span></li>
<li><span>Entrepreneurial and highly organized, with strong project management skills, attention to detail, and proven track record of execution and delivery under dynamic and fast-paced environments, both as an individual and as part of a team;</span></li>
<li><span>Experience in either establishing or enhancing reporting processes and control framework;</span></li>
<li><span>Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-divisional teams;</span></li>
<li><span>Inquisitive mindset: seeking a deep understanding of complex requirements and the upstream/downstream impact of implementation;</span></li>
<li><span>Strong control mindset, and ability to assess risks and judgement to make pragmatic recommendations;</span></li>
<li><span>Experienced user of Microsoft Suite including Excel and PowerPoint</span></li>
<li><span>Preferable but not essential: </span>
<ul>
<li><span>Experience with reporting platforms (Workiva, Watershed, PeopleSoft General Ledger)</span></li>
<li><span>Knowledge of sustainability matters including application of global standards and frameworks, sustainability data vendors, sustainability data methodologies (ENCORE, IEA, IPCC)</span></li>
<li><span>Experience in financial and/or sustainability reporting </span></li>
<li><span>Technology capability or interest, including ability to quickly learn and leverage a range of systems and self-service tools, ability to design and implement certain solutions on a proof-of-concept basis</span></li>
