Senior Test Engineer – Dynamics Lab
Applied Technical Services is currently seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support our Dynamics Lab team at our corporate headquarters located in Marietta, GA
Reports to: Dynamics Test Lab Supervisor
Summary: In this position, the Senior Test Engineer will be assisting the Dynamics Lab team and be responsible for the following tasks:
• Conduct vibration/environmental testing programs for a variety of applications (automotive, aerospace, military, etc.)
• Improve and develop best practices in the lab, including preventive maintenance
• Mentor junior technicians
• Capture test results through detailed datasheets and test reports
• Follow established industry procedures as well as custom methods
• Qualified applicants should have excellent organizational skills coupled with knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Must be able and willing to work in a small but growing team and wear many hats
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc...)
• Excellent written and communication skills
Qualifications
Skills, Abilities & Experience
• Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in a vibration lab preferred
• Thorough understanding of concepts used in dynamics testing
• Experience operating and maintaining electrodynamic shakers and controllers (Unholtz-Dickie, IMV, Vibration Research)
• Familiarity with established procedures (MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160)
• Experience with Temperature/Humidity chambers (CSZ, Thermotron, ESPEC)
• Supervisory experience
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multitask and work in a growing environment
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (will consider Electrical Engineers with coursework relevant to dynamics)
