Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a student worker for the E. L. Wiegand Fitness and Recreational Sports Building. E. L. Wiegand building staff are responsible for enforcement of all facility policy and procedures, including but not limited to checking ID, answering front desk phone, answering membership questions, handling register. Other duties include but are not limited to laundry of towels, distribute towels, cleaning, sanitizing and organizing equipment and fitness rooms throughout the facility. The Fitness and Recreational Sports department goal is to ensure a fun and safe environment for patrons and staff at the fitness center.
Responsibilities
Enforce facility policy and procedures
Effectively communicate with patrons, student staff and professional staff
Evening and weekend work as required
Attend all required trainings and meetings
Assist in special building projects as needed
Assess and ensure safe environment for patrons and staff
Cleaning, sanitizing and organizing equipment
On time arrival for all shifts, trainings and events
Support supervisors
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
Candidate must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
Candidate must possess a good attitude and strong communication skills
Candidate must have the ability to work during the Fitness Center Hours, Monday-Sunday
Candidate must attend monthly In-Service Trainings
Candidate must be available to work 1:00pm – 4:00pm on weekdays, as well as closings and weekends
Required Certifications
CPR (Provided by FRS if needed)
Schedule
Expected hours to work per week: 12-20
Fitness Center Hours are as follows:
Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Note: This position will be scheduled during the hours of 1:00pm – 4:00pm on weekdays, as well as closings and weekends.
