Purpose

Provide administrative support in University Health Services, primarily in Gynecology and Primary Care Clinic (Second Floor).

Responsibilities

  • Front office duties, such as: greets students and initiates check-in and check-out procedures; manages incoming and outgoing telephone calls for department; schedules new and follow-up appointments.

  • Readily accepts other responsibilities and participates in other activities and committees as assigned, including providing back-up support for UHS laboratory Check-In desk. Works overtime, weekends, evenings and holiday as needed. Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern. Exhibits behaviors consistent with organizational values by demonstrating respect and professionalism, adhering to customer service standards and policies, maintaining patient confidentiality, and actively engaging in quality improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Three years of experience with clerical functions working in the front office of a healthcare/medical facility. Experience collecting/verifying health insurance information. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a professional demeanor. Accuracy in grammar and punctuation. Outstanding organizational skills. Attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal training and supervision. Flexibility with shifting priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information. Regular and punctual attendance. Exhibits customer service-oriented behavior and excellent public relation skills in all aspects of work. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the required years of experience with clerical functions. Certificate of completion of Medical Assistant program. Experience working in the front office of a healthcare/medical clinic. Experience using Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Word, Excel software Windows environment. Experience working in a student health center.

Hourly Rate

$22.35

  • M-F, 8am - 5pm
