Reporting to the Production Manager, the Weekend Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a line, including creating and executing daily action plans, ensuring the development of production operators, and supporting the Process Leader and Maintenance Leader in the improvement and sustainability of DMS elements, as well as health and safety training. You are responsible for the Daily Routine Scheduling (DRS) and Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication (CIL) processes and centerlines.

Hours: 12 hours day shifts Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Individual responsibilities

As a weekend production supervisor, your goal is to support your business unit in a positive and friendly atmosphere! To do this, you'll need to:

  • Develop and implement a shift action plan and a daily action plan through T1 and T2 meetings:
  • Present daily updates and action plans at sector meeting (T3):
  • Define, implement and continuously improve CIL processes while coaching operators to comply with current practices:
  • Validate transactions, wasted time and daily performance:
  • Validate daily quality tests and resolve any issues:
  • Communicate best practices to other production supervisors:
  • carry out health and safety checks, draw up plans to create an orderly and clean work environment:
  • Create an action plan to deal with wasted time:
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the DRS chart to match changing operational needs:
  • Manage human resources (scheduling, absence management, communication, etc.).

Experiences and strengths

  • Extensive experience in supervision and the manufacturing sector
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing (an asset)
  • Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence
  • Ability to solve problems and prioritize daily tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership to cultivate a culture of OHS accountability
  • Sound judgment and the courage to make the necessary decisions
  • Agility needed to work with various technological tools
  • Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset)
