About the role

The Financial Analyst, Commercial FP&A is responsible for providing a full range of analytical support for leadership and their assigned functional management partners and acts as a liaison between their assigned business functions and the finance/accounting organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analyst’s primary role is to partner with assigned business functions to provide analytical decision support and performance analysis, recommend and implement actions and drive more efficient and profitable results.
  • Responsible for accurately forecasting and reporting results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Provide comprehensive variance analysis, including identification of gaps, trends and opportunities within the business and recommendations for possible course corrections necessary to functional and finance management.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets for assigned business functions, including planning for strategic objectives, headcount, initiatives, expenses and operational metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for business improvements leading to higher revenue, increased efficiencies or cost savings. Make recommendations for actions and drive implementation.
  • Plan, facilitate and implement ad hoc analysis to support decision making, evaluate business initiatives, evaluate performance, etc.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as requested.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Relevant financial analysis related work experience in the form of internships or full time positions.
  • Advanced level MS Excel skills required.
  • Exposure to financial modeling.
  • Understanding of general accounting processes and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interface effectively across all levels and functions of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while delivering accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility to operate in a dynamic business setting with a strong sense of urgency and willingness to engage in a fast paced, demanding work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-dimensional database systems, planning/forecasting applications or OLAP cubes.
  • Experience SQL Server Management Studio or related database utilities.
  • Experience auditing, public accounting or a CPA.
  • Experience in coding in VBA, Python or other related programming language.

                                                                                                                                      
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Analytics or a related field is required. MBA is very desirable.
