About the role

This position serves as a liaison between IT and various university departments to support, optimize, and enhance Workday's Human Capital Management (HCM), Financial, and Student modules. The position involves gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, and ensuring that Workday meets the strategic needs of the university. This role plays a key role in the continuous improvement of Workday by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.

PRIMARY DUTIES  

  • Assist in the configuration, customization, and ongoing support of Workday applications related to HR, Finance, and Student modules. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for system enhancements or new processes. 
  • Collaborate with functional areas to identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend system changes. 
  • Develop user guides, provide training, and create documentation for end-users to ensure smooth operation of Workday applications. 
  • Provide day-to-day support for Workday issues and troubleshoot system-related problems. 
  • Manage Workday updates, releases, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. 
  • Build and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and data analytics using Workday reporting tools. 
  • Assist stakeholders in interpreting data and generating meaningful insights to support decision-making. 
  • Support and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and other systems such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other third-party software. 
  • Perform system configurations, data uploads, and security role assignments within Workday. 
  • Coordinate and execute system testing, including the development of test plans, scripts, and scenarios. 
  • Work with IT Security and compliance teams to ensure data security and privacy regulations are adhered to within Workday. 
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership. 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. 

  • Three or more (3+) years of experience working as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably with Workday or other ERP/SIS systems. 

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 

  • Experience with system testing, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • In-depth knowledge of Workday HCM, Financials, or Student modules.

  • Strong understanding of business processes in higher education, HR, finance, or student services. 

  • Proficiency in reporting and data analytics within Workday. 

  • Workday certification in one or more modules (HCM, Financials, or Student). 

  • Familiarity with Workday integrations and data migration.
