About the role

Overview

The Technical Lead-SME Software Developer Applications supports the modernization of logistics applications and workflows is essential to ensuring the sustainment of surface fleet operations and aligning with broader DHS digital transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

· Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs

· Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff

· Provides detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission-critical challenges/issues.

· Provides detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission-critical challenges/issues.

· Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.

· Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

· Update software or enhance existing software capabilities.

· May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements.

· May maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team

Qualifications

Required:

 

· MA/MS degree with over 15 years of experience

· Demonstrated experience and knowledge of specific technologies, technical applications, and/or technical integration.

· Highly knowledgeable of current technologies and industry technological efforts, including but not limited to cloud system architectures, cybersecurity, and information technology, to provide expert advice and senior oversight in the development of technical strategies, policies, investments, and requirements.

· Understand and can articulate best practices related to their area(s) of expertise.
