The New York Community & State Health Plan is searching for a Manager, Business Analytics that will primarily support the Sales & Growth Operations, Provider Success, and Executive Leadership teams at the health plan. This managerial role offers an excellent opportunity to directly impact many core health plan operations and secure your future with an industry leader. This position will manage the reporting processes, modeling and analysis of core business operations and key strategic initiatives. You will manage our business by supplying creative quantitative performance analyses and business reporting packages to member sales managers and provider engagement directors. The individual will interpret and analyze data from various sources in recommending the best path forward for various large and unique changes in core business operations and strategic business initiatives and present their findings to senior leaders throughout the health plan. Your innovative analyses will improve member, provider, and employee experience, advance sales and growth team operations, enrich business investments, and advance health plan and provider performance.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze membership growth, claims, and revenue data, recommend best approaches in support of executive analyses of core business operations and new strategic initiatives
  • Lead reporting for multiple internal and external business operations: sales commission, provider engagement, and vendor operations
  • Create data-driven evaluations of multiple internal and external business processes: growth strategy and commission policies, provider success coordination, and vendor operational performance
  • Build relationships with sales and provider success team leadership that result in higher quality reports and results
  • Quickly run ad hoc analytical requests and deliver the information in a concise, meaningful way
  • Perform complex data validation and conceptual analyses using SAS and MS Excel
  • Analyze and interpret reporting tools utilized by the internal and external customer groups
  • Provide management with statistical findings, explanations, and conclusions
  • Reviews data extraction and analytical projects of other analysts
  • Serves as a company thought leader on innovative analytical approaches for new and expanding business models
  • Trusted resource for senior leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in an analytics capacity and evidence of creative, proactive problem solving
  • Experience in the healthcare insurance industry preferably with exposure to medical claims data
  • Advanced or higher level of proficiency with SAS and SQL
  • Advanced or higher level of proficiency working with MS Excel including Pivot Tables, Charts and complex functions
     


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Actuarial Science Exams

  • Experience working with Medicaid

  • Experience with Medical Economics

  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities

  • Proven skill at learning new coding languages and business processes
