The Work You Will Do:
This position performs professional accounting work for a complex revenue structure. A major portion of time is spent ensuring applicable work is processed in compliance with various Florida Statutes relating to revenue collections on behalf of the Department. for the Revenue Accounting Section. Provide assistance and staff support for accurate accounting business processes to ensure quality control measures, conformance with prescribed deadlines and compliance with standards of the Department (DBPR), the Department of Financial Services (DFS), the Office of the Auditor General, Governmental Accounting.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Analyze transmittal of deposits to Treasury and prepare fiscal (revenue) reports based on detailed analysis of FLAIR records, screens, daily input reports verifying FLAIR data entry and other financial reports to ensure accurate/timely transmittals.
- Prepare reports of revenue activities by board and prepare revenue reports in support of quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Analyze outstanding accounts receivable for citations, fines, and penalties monthly. Record accounts receivable balances for year-end comprehensive financial statements Maintain Debt Collection and Uncollectible Account Receivable records.
- Analyze aged accounts receivable for citations, fines, and penalties. Prepare aged accounts receivable, relating to citations, fines, and penalties, submission to the collections agencies for collections
- Monitor entries at fiscal year-end to identify pending deposits considered cash on hand.
