Job Description

Summary:  

This position is responsible for Mercury support for a diverse group of manufacturing disciplines, for creating and maintaining MES routings, dynamic routing links, MES item masters, bill of material, item attributes, data logs, and operator/operation certifications.  Also, responsible for participation and support in the implementation, training, and problem resolution of the Mercury/MES System. Test and implement program changes and continually help to validate the integrity of the system data.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Mercury Shop Floor Support

  •   Process, edit, format, and standardize routings
  •   Process, edit, format ESL routings
  •   Modify WIP changes as requested
  •   Input and maintain tables and data in MES
  •   Review standards, bill of materials and finished products with accounting
  •   Conduct end-user training
  •   Monitors Mercury/MES to ensure castings are following approved routing process
  •   Trouble shoot manufacturing routing issues to enhance production flow

Additional Responsibilities as Level II:

  • Process, edit, format, standardize, maintain control and distribution of all manufacturing work instructions (GSP’s, Engineering Specifications, IMRS’, Controlled Procedures, etc.)
  • Send daily “Pending Approval” and “Issued Work Instructions” emails.
  • Link issued work instructions to Mercury routings and WIP.
  • Maintains control and distribution of new and revised specifications and blueprints
  • Send weekly ROC Status Update emails.
  • Maintains CTQ Audits.
  • Maintain control of Shipping Packages.
  • Archive and retrieval of documents and x-ray film from CRM.

Education and/or Experience                

High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum of one year data-entry and related experience with clerical duties in an office environment.  Minimum of 2 years’ experience with quality systems, including Document Control.

Language Skills                                                                                                                     Ability to communicate in English including the ability to read, comprehend and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence in English.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, internal customers, and other employees of the organization

Reasoning Ability                                                                                                              Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills                                                                                                                     Must be proficient in use of the office computer and skilled with MS Office including Excel and Word or similar spreadsheet and word processing software.  Ability to maintain and utilize databases and other software in support of department operations.
