Provides clinical support management, as a subject matter expert in physics, of incoming customer support requests regarding oncology products.Works at clinical sites to observe medical physics services under the supervision of a qualified medical physicist commensurate with their level of advancement and responsibility as determined by the Sr. Medical Physicist. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Supports and demonstrates Family-Centered Care principles when interacting with customers and with co-workers.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop personal program of self-study and clinical competency with guidance from the medical physics clinical staff.
Contact with employees and physicians in radiation oncology and the public requiring professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and interventional planning. Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Clinical duties include, but are not limited to Observation in:
Radiation dosimetry calibrations and measurements.
Linear accelerator quality assurance.
Radiation safety measures.
Radiotherapy treatment planning.
Fabrication and quality assurance of radiotherapy treatment aids such as immobilization devices, custom blocks, custom compensators, bolus, etc.
Low dose rate and high dose rate brachytherapy dosimetry and quality assurance.
Stereotactic radiosurgery dosimetry and quality assurance.
Intensity modulated radiotherapy dosimetry and quality assurance.
Participate in the educational and scholarly activities of the program.
Participate in departmental and institutional committees and councils, especially those related to technical, safety, and patient care activities.
Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, guests and all members of the healthcare team, in a professional manner.
Maintain compliance with all Varian policies and procedures and local cancer center policies.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree in Physics or Math program
Located or willing to relocate to Bristol, TN or surrounding area
CAMPEP Residency candidate
Has shadowed a Radiation Oncology department (preferred)

The annual base pay for this position is:
Min $91,300 - Max $137,000Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Position must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this position. Many clients require Siemens Healthineers employees and representatives to meet certain Vendor Credentialing requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites.
