Job Description
Title: Sr. Supervisor Production
Key Accountabilities:
- Provides guidance and direction to medium size groups (15-45) of hourly employees.
- Responds to customer concerns.
- Coordinates production schedules with other departments.
- Diagnoses equipment malfunctions (or "assists in").
- Maintains time and production departmental records.
- Keeps management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems.
- Monitors quality control process.
- Studies production schedules and estimates hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations while complying with terms of contractual labor agreement.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product while
- operating within assigned budget.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and quality of shop, department
- or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Implements good housekeeping practices.
- Provides training to personnel as specified in departmental training matrix
- Identifies and reduces non-value-added work.
- Assists with the development and provides support to entry level and intermediate supervisors.
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
- Perform special projects as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with major operations management related field and 5 years supervisory or manufacturing
experience; or 9 years of supervisory or manufacturing experience. "Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.”
Preferred:
- Strong leadership skills.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with computer applications and/or controlled systems.
- Relatively high level of analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Must be available to work shifts and/or flexible hours.
- High level of interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with "Lean Manufacturing" principles.
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
- Familiar with plant operations and equipment.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
- Completion of recommended company training programs.
- Knowledge of job-related product information.
- Knowledge of ISO-QS-9000 requirements.
- Knowledge of MTU America's procedures for tracking labor, burden, overtime and quality control.
Work Environment:

Daily work is performed in an office and general manufacturing work environment. This position has a compressed work schedule during a Monday through Thursday 10-hour work schedule.
While performing tasks for this position, the employee is regularly requested to perform work on a computer inside and occasionally outside of the work environment. Also, the employee will occasionally be required to work in
environmental conditions where there are fumes, unpleasant odors, and gases. Please note, the conditions can be hazardous. Also, the employee will be occasionally requested to endure sufficient amounts of noise while performing
tasks for this position.
While performing physical demands of the position, occasionally the employee will be occasionally requested to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and squat. Also, the employee will be regularly requested to sit
within a particular work environment. Next, the employee will frequently be requested to walk inside and outside the work environment. Finally, an employee will be regularly requested to grasp and manipulate items in a maneuverable manner to perform daily tasks.
