About the role

Description

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications to join our Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart Service in a clinical practice faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Clinical Practice. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a twelve-month full-time basis for a term of 3 years beginning January 1, 2027.

The base salary range per month will be Assistant Professor $19,166-$21,250; Associate Professor $20,833-$23,750, and Full Professor $23,750-$41,667 ($229,992-$500,004 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

The successful candidate will participate in both our Interventional and Structural Heart programs, including seeing patients in clinic and performing procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab and hybrid operating room. They will be expected to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement, patent foramen ovale closure, transcatheter edge-to-edge repairs, and percutaneous coronary interventions. They will also teach Cardiology, Interventional, and Structural Heart Disease fellows how to perform these procedures based on the fellow’s skill level and training. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.

Qualifications

Applicants for this clinical practice faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

The successful candidate must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Interventional Cardiology (or foreign equivalent) by the start date of employment.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
