About the role
The Football Equipment Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of football equipment operations at the University of La Verne. This includes issuing, maintaining, and organizing equipment, preparing gear for practices and games, and ensuring all student-athletes are properly outfitted. The coordinator plays a vital role in supporting daily team operations by ensuring equipment readiness, safety, and efficiency.
Under the supervision of the Head Football Coach and Athletics Director, the Football Equipment Coordinator manages the distribution, maintenance, and organization of all football equipment. The coordinator ensures all gear is practice- and game-ready, assists with equipment setup and breakdown, and supports game day operations.

- Equipment Distribution & Collection – Issue, fit, and collect football equipment including helmets, shoulder pads, practice gear, and uniforms. Ensure all athletes are properly equipped. 30%
- Practice & Game Preparation – Set up and break down equipment for all practices and games. Prepare locker room and field equipment in advance of team activities. 25%
- Equipment Maintenance – Inspect, clean, and maintain all equipment. Identify damaged or unsafe gear and report to supervisor. Assist with repairs and reconditioning as needed. 20%
- Inventory Management – Maintain accurate inventory records. Track issuance and return of equipment. Assist with ordering and restocking supplies.15%
- Laundry Operations – Assist with washing, drying, and organizing practice and game uniforms. Ensure timely turnaround for daily use. 5%
- Other Duties as Assigned – Assist with additional team operations, travel preparation, or special projects as directed by coaching staff or Athletics department. 5%
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods during practices and games (3–4 hours), lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform repetitive physical tasks such as loading/unloading equipment and organizing gear.

Education / Degrees Required:
- High School Diploma or GED (enrolled ULV student)
Required Minimum Experience:
- Basic knowledge of football (rules, positions, and equipment)
- Ability to lift and transport equipment (minimum 25–50 lbs.)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
- Availability for all scheduled practices and games
Required Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Basic understanding of football equipment and fitting procedures
- Organizational skills to manage inventory and equipment distribution
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills for coordination with coaches and players
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
- Prior experience in equipment management or athletics support roles
- Familiarity with helmet and shoulder pad fitting standards
- Experience working in a team or athletic environment
- Knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork are essential.
