Job Description
Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Global, Ltd. has multiple opportunities to join our Property Underwriting team due to our exciting growth. We are seeking an AVP to be a part of our Middle Market Property team in Philadelphia, New York City, or Atlanta office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development a profitable book of business within the designated underwriting territory for Everest. The selected candidate will assist in implementation of a plan for growth in the region while creating brand awareness for Everest. This plan will include goals and objectives for the team as well as for the region.
Building and underwriting a diverse and profitable book of business
Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with appointed brokers
Developing, implementing and controlling pricing and a risk selection standard that supports strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals
Effectively working with Actuarial, Claims, Loss Control, Operations, Finance, and Information Technology
Mentor and coach underwriters both technically and professionally
Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace.
Qualifications
Bachelors or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years Commercial Property underwriting experience.
Experience in single carrier property market
Be self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a departmentally related field.
The ability to travel up to 25%
