Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a full-time Principal Management Consultant/AMI Expert with experience in designing electrical power systems for the municipal water / wastewater industry to join our team in Guaynabo, PR!

Our team is focused on management consulting to support water, gas, and electric utilities with technology advisory, strategy development, feasibility analysis, process improvement, procurement, project management, and project implementation.  We are a team focused on growing our portfolio of project experience and delivering outstanding outcomes to our clients. 

Role accountabilities:

A successful candidate will have expertise in some or all these areas and be able to execute on deliverables as assigned.

• Build and nurture relationships with clients, client executives, systems integrators, partners, vendors, and internal department personnel.
• Provide and support pursuits and opportunities through bringing a network of contacts.
• Ability to develop scopes of work and estimated fees in alignment with customer needs.
• Serve as liaison between technical personnel and functional business users in the project environment.
• Work at client sites as needed to assist the team in the day-to-day management of the overall systems deployment, testing, and acceptance.
• Assist utility clients with the development of an advanced meter infrastructure (AMI), CIS implementations, or other utility technology implementation planning and execution for water, gas, electric, or combination.
• Supervise and support the work of others and mentor staff.
• Utilize best practices knowledge to assist in the development and implementation of tools, policies, and procedures to increase the effectiveness of company objectives.
• Become an Arcadis Certified Project Manager within 6 months of hire.
• Travel required on an as-needed basis up to 25% for project site visits, client meetings, some international travel.
• Conduct project communications with strong written, oral, and presentation skills.  
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, profit and loss, and project expectations.
• Plan and direct user training where applicable.
• Plan and direct system testing where applicable.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• 15 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferably with an emphasis on power.
• Professional Engineering PE License in PR. 

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Understanding of Advanced Metering Infrastructure and meter-to-cash and utility business process and practices.
• Strong preference for past large utility experience for Water, Electric and Gas.
• Experience with a leading AMI solution is preferred.
• Excellent business judgment, problem framing and solving, project management and strong understanding of people analytics. 
• Exhibit innovative thinking, collaboration, and comfort in solving ambiguous problems. 
• Effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to different stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (MS or MBA) is preferred but not required.
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP) ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
