Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This position is expected to begin in June 2024.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
- Perform assignments related to the design, analysis, rehabilitation and inspection of highway bridges and ancillary structures
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering
- Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registration as an E.I.T.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
- Flexibility to work on a variety of projects, including highways, bridges and tunnels.
- Flexibility to occasionally work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments depending on project needs
- Must be detail oriented and demonstrate good problem solving ability.
- Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms.
- Masters Degree preferred
- Previous experience with Internships
- Software Experience: AutoCad, Microstation, MS Office and Structural Analysis Software experience
