The Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology is seeking to hire an Employee Relations Director who serves the DoIT Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Advisor for agency Employee and Labor Relations matters. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and able to manage multiple critical projects with shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment.  Understanding of information technology and identifying strategic solutions in an evolving organization is highly preferred. Essential Functions

•    Subject to management approval, serves as the Employee Relations Director for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT)
•    Serves as the DoIT Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Advisor for agency Employee and Labor Relations
•    Directs the Labor Relations program
•    Serves as a full-line supervisor
•    Conducts meetings with agency management and other staff to inform of changes in policy, procedures and operations
•    Serves as a resource for agency staff and interested parties on collective bargaining matters
•    Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. 
 

Minimum Qualifications

•    Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with coursework in public or business administration. 

•    Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the field of labor relations and/or human resources in a public or business organiz
