This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Structural Heart division.

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis. Prepares financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. Gathers and publishes financial information related to historical, current and future performance. Performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques. Recommends alternative courses of action.

What You’ll Work On

  • Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.
  • Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
  • Perform variance analysis and identify key drivers in support of business decisions with comparisons to relevant benchmarks. 
  • Conduct regular financial reviews with business partners to explain financial performance and make recommendations aligned with overall strategy and financial commitments.
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
  • Perform financial analysis related to Allocations and recommend alternatives that are in SH Operations' best interest considering the services we provide. Utilize appropriate financial tools. (e.g. EVA, NPV analysis).
  • Evaluate business opportunities and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. P&L impact, deferred vs. non-deferred impact, etc.)
  • Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on expenses by modeling changes in key variables (recommending appropriate course of action).
  • Develop and utilize sound financial processes.
  • Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments. Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel. May lead a project team. Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects. Influences middle management on technical or business solutions. May interact with vendors.
  • Plans and organizes non-routine tasks w/approval. Initiates or maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignments.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
