About the Job
Designs, assesses, develops, modifies and evaluates VLSI components and hardware systems. Drives architecture and logic design, design verification through software developed for component and system simulation, and builds physical implementations through development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Assesses designs to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results to enable prototype and production VLSI solutions. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Visible contributions improve time-to-market, achieve cost reductions, or satisfy current and future unmet customer needs. Oversees or participates in cross-functional initiatives and contributes to mentorship and knowledge sharing across the organization.
How You'll Make Your Mark
- Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for VLSI design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
- Recognized as an authority in key VLSI technical areas, Plays a crucial role in defining industry standards, developing product features that become accepted as de-facto industry standards
- Writing RTL using System Verilog
- Creating System Verilog Assertions (SVAs) and using Formal Verification to prove design correctness
- Reviews and evaluates VLSI designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; Contributes towards conclusions which have major technical impact on strategic directions and cost efficiency of the unit.
- Provides technical oversight and accountability for multiple project teams and engineers. Leverages recognized VLSI expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence conclusions of executive business management, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members to set multiple examples, over time, of VLSI design and development innovation and excellence.
- Participates in and provides input on process for selection of future technical managers.
- Identifies emerging VLSI technologies and assess their impact. Is instrumental in identifying new VLSI projects and programs.
About You
- Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or equivalent
- Typically 10+ years experience.
- Management experience and mastery in electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI concepts, digital logic, and computer architecture.
- Excellent assessment and problem solving skills.
- Mastery over designing VLSI components, integrated circuitry, architectures and algorithms into complex VLSI solutions.
- Mastery of a programming and scripting, hardware description language, electronic design automation (EDA), and/or FPGA tools. Coursework in VLSI design or VLSI concepts.
- Experience with Ethernet protocols, networking stacks, CPU or GPU systems, and high-speed peripherals
- Clock domain crossing concepts and experience
- System Verilog Assertions and Assumptions for both synthesis and Formal Verification
- Understands and able to balance power, performance, and area on complex designs
- Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude, and detail oriented
- Mastery in executive written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
