About the role

Position Summary:

 

The Data Management Specialist is responsible for performing the necessary tasks as it relates to the setup of all new studies in BSI, ensuring compliance with currently defined parameters of BSI, data modification, code list update requests and user assistance with BSI troubleshooting.  The Data Management Specialists will be responsible in assisting with tasks/issues across all PFM sites.  In addition to data entry and modification tasks, the Data Management Specialist will support activities to identify any divergence in compliance and quality related issues in the overall quality of client data and data integrity issues/concerns.

 

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensure appropriate BSI setup for new projects and escalate to the Data Management Supervisor when requests are beyond standard reporting capabilities of BSI
  • Assist the PM team with the development of BSI parameters for the Project Operator Procedures (POPs) for new studies
  • Analyzes and corrects data using documented procedures and available tools as well as personal knowledge, skills, and recommended solutions
  • Adhere to QMS compliance in all data management activities including thorough documentation of issues/corrections implemented
  • Maintains appropriate work logs to ensure team and individual KPIs are available to the Data Management Supervisor
  • Assist with quality improvement projects related to the BSI code list initiatives, BSI system modernization efforts and historical data revitalization measures
  • Interact with Global and local IT groups, LIMS System Admins, BSI/LIMS End-Users, Quality Assurance, and other internal stakeholders
  • Participates in utilization and maintenance of documented application standards and procedures
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Precision for Medicine Core Values

 

Miscellaneous

  • Attend required in-house training seminars as scheduled
  • Carry out other duties/projects as assigned
  • Edit / Maintain SOPs/POPs as assigned
  • Prepare and generate demos
  • Initiate NCR/Complaint, when applicable or requested
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 or 3 years’ relevant work experience

 

 

Other Required:

 

  • Basic knowledge of data integrity principles and data governance strategies
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Previous experience with compliance to internal QMS
  • Excellent computer skills that include experience with scientific software applications
  • Analyze data, identify issues, and solve problems using critical thinking skills
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to customers and colleagues that are technical and non-technical individuals
  • Read and interpret documents (i.e. operating instructions and business processes)
  • Work independently or collaboratively in a group
  • Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Maintain a high standard of courtesy and cooperation with co-workers and customers
  • Ability to read, write, speak fluently, and comprehend the English language

 

 

Preferred:

 

  • 1+ year of demonstrated proficiency of Biological Specimens Inventory (BSI) platform

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.Reasonable estimate of the current range$18.50—$30.76 USD
