About the role

The VP,  Product Marketing & Operations is a member of the Global Product Management team, responsible for defining, implementing and stewarding Gartner’s product marketing discipline. In this role, the VP will create the core product marketing messaging to help build alignment internally and build awareness and engagement with our customers and target markets. The VP will partner closely with other leaders across Marketing, Product, Sales and Service to effectively educate internal and external audiences on the value of our products and solutions. The VP will craft marketing programs designed to drive awareness of launches and new feature/product adoption as well as manage the product life cycle and messaging for mature products in our portfolio. The VP will also manage GPM Operations in support of organizational and leadership productivity and effectiveness.




Responsibilities:

  • Optimize Global Product Management (GPM) marketing roadmap to ensure focus is on the right things, at the right time to support leadership productivity, transparency, and accountability.
  • Make recommendations and continuously improve on our marketing activities, including channel communications and other programs. Create effective mechanisms to track key inputs to the business and report closely on their progress.
  • Connect the dots from product messaging, competitive analysis and positioning, pricing and customer insights to position new and existing Gartner products to meet customer retention and growth goals.
    • Leverage available data/insights to identify opportunities to better differentiate and communicate the value of Gartner’s offerings and drive customer awareness and adoption of key sources of value for each product.
    • Present on product performance, contextualize change-related messages, decisions and actions for Team NCVI partners.
  • Partner with other product leaders as well as Sales Enablement/GSSO to help drive ongoing adoption of our products and solutions by connecting the product roadmap with our go-to-market strategy and innovating in the way we engage with our customers.
  • Partner with GPM leadership to execute necessary analysis, framing, prioritization, work scoping, planning and project management.
  • Organize and support the annual Strategy Projects.
  • Support monthly Operating Committee presentations, GPM Operations Reviews and weekly leadership meeting follow-ups for EVP and Leadership Team.
  • Develop business cases for product innovation efforts and drive high-visibility product marketing launches that ultimately drive new revenue.
  • Partner closely with Communications to develop a comprehensive communication strategy inclusive of creating and curating content for GPM wide Town Hall and Management meetings, product launch communications (internal and external), etc.
    • Identify appropriate methods/channel of cascading content, message, and timing of all communication.
  • Support GPM annual budget and financial planning processes, and partner with Finance, HR and Talent Acquisition to ensure efficiency and adjust budget forecasts as needed.
  • Collaboration with other BU leadership across critical cross-functional programs.
  • Demonstrate a player-coach mentality; with ability to manage teams.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with executives including OC members
  • 12+ years business experience, with progressive responsibility in a face paced, agile, matrixed environment.
