General Summary
- The Senior Clinical Education Coordinator champions and coordinates community-based clinical training experiences across the 23-county Mid‑Missouri AHEC region. This role ensures high-quality, compliant learning opportunities while driving strategic initiatives, fostering partnerships, and providing leadership to the clinical education team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical education programs to meet evolving academic, community, and regulatory needs.
- Partner with the Director of AHEC to establish program goals, timelines, and key performance indicators.
- Drive grant-support initiatives, assist with proposal development, and ensure accurate reporting of program outcomes.
- Mentor and supervise the Clinical Education Coordinator and support the Health Career Coordinator, fostering professional growth and accountability.
- Develop and deliver training workshops on best practices in clinical education, preceptor engagement, and compliance standards.
- Serve as a liaison between Phelps Health, Mid‑MO AHEC, academic partners, clinical sites, and community organizations.
- Cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with faculty, preceptors, students, and healthcare leadership.
- Assist with leading regional advisory committees and represent the Mid-MO AHEC department in interdepartmental and external forums
- Develop and implement preceptor recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies, including recognition and incentive programs.
- Organize regional preceptor appreciation events, workshops, and networking forums.
- Oversee student placement logistics, ensuring optimal alignment of learning objectives with clinical site capabilities.
- Monitor program compliance with Phelps Health policies, i.e., HIPAA and FERPA
- Analyze program data (placements, evaluations, satisfaction metrics) and assist in leading quality improvement projects.
- Prepare regular reports on program performance, challenges, and opportunities to stakeholders.
- Review and analyze departmental data to support the development of strategic goals and objectives.
- Coordinate didactic sessions, oversee shadowing experiences, and other educational activities.
- Manage travel arrangements, site visits, and event logistics, including regional and overnight travel as required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in education or a health-related field is required.
Work Experience
- At least two years of experience in a professional office or educational setting required. Must have experience in Baccalaureate and graduate curriculum implementation and health professional development/continuing education program coordination. Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have expertise in the use of standard office equipment and online applications. Must possess the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
Certification/License
- A valid Driver's license and car insurance are required. Must have reliable transportation.
Mental/Physical Requirements
- High levels of communication skills, concentration, attention to detail, ability to process and interpret diverse information while working simultaneously on several projects. Must be able to handle stressful situations. Must be able to transport self throughout the facility. Must be able to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Standard office conditions. Some overnight travel is required.
